Well Insulated

Too well, actually.

I bet he's not going to enjoy that! I hope it doesn't make him even crankier than usual. I know it would me.

"diet? nonsense. I'm thin and svelt. In fact you haven't been feeding me enough I'm starving."

So, is the diet working? You still alive, Hecate? I'd guess irritating Milton might be dangerous...

Milton spent some time in the barn, which he absolutely hated. He would threaten to kick while I was cleaning his stall, walking backwards with his front feet while hopping his rear end up and down.

He nearly got me one day, so I whapped him on his well-padded butt with the back of the flimsy plastic manure fork. Little deleted-expletive swung around and did it again.

Now he's out in a dry lot with a round bale of nice, stemmy grass hay. The barn owner has to keep swapping out his roommates. At least Milton's getting exercise when he chases them around.

Poor, downtrodden pony... :D

Have you considered leaving a laptop in Milton's stall so that he can blog here?

Love your posts. Andy (the pony), Dancer (the mini), Linus (the draft cross) and Lexie (the Morgan) all send their best.

Hecate has been real busy lately, so she wanted me to post the following update.

Milton's diet is going very well. Hecate enrolled him in Jenny Craig, and he dropped 60 pounds. He looked so buff, that Sports Illustrated signed him to star in the next male swimsuit issue. At the same time, he got a role in the latest equine reality TV hit, and is going to be on Letterman next week along with the Kardashian sisters, and Joan Jett.

Milton already has an agent, and he's looking for appropriate movie roles to further his career.
